Civil Engineering Intern

What's the role?

This internship program offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and work closely with our experienced engineers. The selected candidate will contribute to various projects in Energy [ e.g. Thermal and Nuclear Power, Oil & Gas On-Shore and Off-Shore Plants, Shipbuilding], Industry [e.g. Vehicle, Machinery, Electronics, Data Centers] civil and building constructional [Hospitals, Airports] gaining exposure to different aspects of product driven structural engineering such as developing, implementing, managing, coordinating complex solutions and services. An internship also provides insight into different aspects of sales, business development, logistic, supply chains meanwhile working in matrix organization and close collaboration with various departments, offices located in Malaysia and South Asia Pacific.

What does the role involve?

Key Tasks:

  • Assist in the analysis and design of structural components under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Conduct research and gather data to support engineering calculations and design concepts.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop preliminary designs for assigned projects.
  • Create detailed CAD drawings and 3D models using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering reports, technical documents, and construction drawings.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to achieve innovative engineering solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and codes relevant to structural engineering.
  • Support engineers in reviewing project specifications, requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to project coordination and documentation.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What you need is:

Qualification:

Education

  • Pursuing a BSc or MSc degree in structural / civil engineering or related fields with major subjects in steel structure design.
Knowledge
Familiar with:
  • MS Office / word, excel, PowerPoint /
  • Structural engineering software (R-Stab, StAAD Pro, SAP2000) is a plus
  • AutoCAD 2D/3D, INVENTOR, REVIT is a plus
  • FEM, MatchCad is a plus.
Languages
  • Fluent in English, all other languages are a plus
