Our engineers get involved from the early stage of a project, making the connection between a customer’s need and our product design, and then translating these into solutions helping our customers to build faster, safer and more productive. Technical Engineers are the backbone of our Engineering department providing consultation, support and designs for technical solutions when it comes to passive fire protection, anchoring, modular support systems and the other technical areas of Hilti – supporting our customers and the entire organization.

What does the role involve?

As a Technical Engineer you will work as a part of the Engineering Competence Center team based in our Finnish HQ in Keilaranta, Espoo. Engineering Competence Center is a specialist department working with Hilti's technical product lines and solutions collaborating closely with the engineering department, technical marketing and sales teams. Responsibilities include providing consultation and technical support to internal and external stakeholders in relation to Hilti products, software and services. You will get into the largest projects being built in Finland and to process of development and design of technical solutions supporting our customers to be more successful and productive in their building process. The main contacts of the Technical Engineer are Design Engineers from external Engineering offices, Project Managers of our customers and internal field Sales and Engineering colleagues.


Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Providing high quality consultation and technical support for internal and external stakeholders and/or requesters via phone and email
  • Develop solutions, produce designs & calculations for Hilti’s Anchoring systems, Firestop and Installation solutions in accordance to local norms and guidelines
  • Delivery of engineering services and designs for projects
  • Providing trainings for internal and external stakeholders on our technical product lines and solutions
  • Work closely in our key projects as a project team member
  • Creation of leads and opportunities for our sales and engineering teams
  • Selected development tasks and projects aiming for the continuous improvement of the whole engineering department

What you need is:

  • Technical or commercial engineering degree (B.Sc or M.Sc)
  • Strong team player
  • Willingness and ability to learn new things and areas
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Pro-activity and can-do attitude
  • Experience in sales-oriented positions is a plus, but not requirement
  • Relevant work experience from civil engineering, project management or construction is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Finnish and, English at working proficiency level
