Graduate Channel Sales Development Programme

What's the role?

Starting annual base salary: £27,000 + annual bonus at target of: £1,500

Are you looking for a graduate programme, with an award-winning employer, that will challenge you to reach your full potential?

We’re looking for high-performing graduates to drive our business forward and become future leaders within our Channel Sales Division.

Show us that you have what we’re looking for, and in return we’ll provide you with world-class training to support you in taking your career to the next level with a Great Place to Work certified employer.

Who is Hilti?

Hilti is where innovation is improving productivity, safety and sustainability in the global construction industry, and beyond. Where strong customer relationships are creating solutions that build a better future. Where there is pride and a sense of belonging across our 120 locations, carrying right into our lives and homes. Where people are exploring possibilities, leveraging their potential, owning their personal development and growing lasting careers.

What does the role involve?

Your first role of the programme will be the role of a Customer Service Representative. In this role you will process calls from internal and external customers in an efficient and professional manner; you’ll be dealing with our existing corporate customers to help them with orders, as well as proactively contacting customers, using a suggestive selling approach, to offer solutions to their problems and in order to meet their business needs.

This initial landing role in customer services will arm you with the knowledge of our customers, our extensive product range and the services we offer, as well as getting to know the organisation and our ways of working - it’s a great platform on which to build your career at Hilti.

Channel Sales encompasses our Customer Service department, our internal sales team, as well as our retail network of 8 Hilti Stores across the UK, and next steps in this programme could be varied within these areas, for example Customer Services: Assistant Team Leader / Trainer; Internal Sales: Account Manager / Team Leader or Hilti Store Regional Support / Team Leader.

“I started my career with Hilti in the Customer Services function some 21 years ago and it has been an excellent foundation to a varied and international career with the Group! Understanding our customers and core business is important in so many aspects of your development and you certainly get lots of opportunity to provide technical advice and sales guidance on the whole range of Hilti products and services in Customer Service.
It wasn’t long before I was confident to take this experience and competence into field sales and then marketing before moving into training and development and latterly HR. Putting the customer front and centre and delivering great service remains at the heart of how I operate today.”
– Laura Stringer, Regional Head of HR Shared Services

Who should apply?

‘I joined our Customer Services department in 2008 as a university graduate looking for a company that matched my values and career aspirations. The Customer Services role at Hilti is absolutely critical to the success of our business as providing outstanding service and developing strong relationships with our customer base is one of the key differentiators from our competition. Every single day in Customer Services I learnt something new and developed my ability to communicate effectively, problem-solve and provide outstanding service. These skills have been essential in all of the roles I have developed into at Hilti and still form the basis of my role now which is at the heart of developing our strategy across Northern Europe.’
Matthew Balnaves, Northern Europe Trade Manager
