What's the role?
In this role you manage the transport activities of the Head Quarters from our plants and suppliers to the distribution centers of the countries where Hilti is located. That includes the budgeting of transport expenses, the procurement of transport services, the optimization of the transport units utilization, the recruitment of the new team members, the development of the existing team while ensuring performance and compliance.

What does the role involve?
Define and implement the procurement strategy of Head Quarters transport with the objective to ensure the replenishment of Hilti Market Organizations balancing performance, cost, and ecological impact. Drive the implementation of the Transport Management System that Hilti has started, including a control tower set-up. Continuously improve processes and implement best practices supported by new technology when necessary. Keep close to the transport Market and to the partners. Organize regular tenders on Sea freight, Air freight, road transport and rail. Recruit, train and develop the HQ transport team staying up to date with the industry. Enhance accurate and efficient reporting with relevant metrics. Adapt fast and find solutions to support Hilti Business continuity and drive compliance. Work closely with export, customs, and material management departments as well as local logistics teams.

What you need is:
- Master in management or industrial Engineering
- 5-8 years experience in a leadership position in a large transport company or leading transport as a shipper with a proven track record in leveraging capabilities of a Transport Management System.
- Broad experience in all transport modes worldwide with a comprehensive market knowledge and excellent negotiation skills.
- Motivating and convincing team player able to drive, challenge, sell ideas and coach across the organization.
- Strong communication skills across all levels and functions considering a diverse cultural environment.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and German
