Intern - Material Science and Tribology - Innovation in sealing concepts (M/F/X)

What's the role?

You apply your skills and knowledge in the development of new sealing concepts that will be used in our products. Your contribution will enable our tools with highly efficient sealing concepts to reach the highest possible efficiency which is crucial for our battery powered tools. You will have insights to the latest developments in sealing concepts at HILTI.

What does the role involve?

You are responsible for the whole experimental investigation of new sealing concepts for rotary seals. This includes the development of the testing procedure with design of experiments. You will set up and perform the tests, evaluate the data and draw conclusions which you will present to the project team. Based on your results you will drive optimization measures together with the team to find the best possible solution. Tests will be performed on two available test rigs enabling you with a holistic investigation of the sealing concepts. With our fully automated test rig you will secure your findings in a statistically validated manner, and you will document the outcomes in a technical report.

INNOVATION - We are the materials team within in the department of corporate research and technology (CR&T) located at the Innovation Center at our headquarter in Schaan. Having different technical backgrounds and coming from different countries, we all have the passion to drive the latest innovations in material science and tribology.

What you need is:

We would like to hear from you if
• You're studying mechanical engineering or similar
• You are interested in machine elements, especially rotary seals
• First experience in running tribological tests are a plus
• You can work self-reliantly and systematically
• You enjoy hands on work
