What does the role involve?
Your main responsibilities:
- Being part of the project execution team as technical lead
- Understand clients’ needs on key applications and consult on Hilti modular support system and firestop solutions.
- Engineer and design key applications based on customer’s requirements, providing the most convenient solution fulfilling technical, economic, and logistic constrains.
- Ensure the adherence to relevant codes and Hilti standards in project engineering
- Collaborate on-site with clients for limited time or visit jobsites during construction phase to cover onsite design needs and collect feedback on what has been designed.
- Develop project-specific best practice manuals to contribute to increasing PMO know-how.
- Write engineering reports (calculation notes) for designed applications.
- Derive bill of materials from design work and provide it to other Hilti departments (e.g. order management, logistics)
- In case of projects of higher complexity, coordinate a team of technical engineers
- In case of BIM projects, lead design, provide inputs to modelers and perform QA/QC according to BIM methodology

What you need is:
- Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering;
- At least 2 years of experience as a civil/mechanical engineer;
- Strong communication skills in both English and Italian
- Understanding the correlation between technical and commercial aspects of engineering work;
- Empathy and ability to work in multicultural environment;
- Good understanding of structural model building:
- AutoCAD 3D (or similar) know how; Autodesk INVENTOR know how is a plus
- Know how in usage of structural engineering software (R-Stab, SAP2000 or FEM software is a plus;
- Know how about plant design software (SmartPlant 3D or PDMS) or BIM is a plus
