What's the role?
We're looking for a specialist with experience in a customer facing function (either from a sales or a service support background) to service both our customers and direct sales force with Hilti's key asset management service offerings. The Services Specialist will assist in growing and supporting our software products and services with local, regional, and global partners at Hilti. This role is based in Durban and this team member will coordinate with local sales personnel to leverage customer relationships and develop markets; thereby increasing sales and penetration of ON!Track and Fleet Management.

What does the role involve?
As a Services Specialist, you’ll be working closely with Hilti’s local sales teams in the field, coaching team members to improve their competency in the specialist services, as well as building and executing action plans to uncover opportunities and drive sales. You will also be supporting customers by providing analysis on their business needs, as well as excellent customer service in the software implementation and training phases of ON!Track in particular. The role requires someone who can work with initiative and creativity, manage their own diary, cover all customer commitments effectively, and very much be a team player. It is also beneficial to be excited by software as well as being tech-savvy and having a high IT literacy skillset.
Like most at Hilti, the Service Specialist role is a hands-on role, and the successful candidate will be expected to be the go-to person for services within their region. A consultative sales approach, as well as effective communication and customer demonstrations of services will be essential to succeed.

What you need is:
- Experience in B2B field-based role – is ideal
- Completed tertiary level degree /higher diploma in either I.T, Marketing or Business-Related discipline
- A background in IT is preferable
- Can demonstrate analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong interest in software and skilled in Microsoft office suite
- Ability to work in a cross-functional Team environment: Marketing, Sales and 3rd party service provider
- Willingness to travel/drive extensively, working autonomously in a field-based role, managing your own time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Developing strong and sustainable relationships - with both internal and external stakeholders
