Account Manager

What's the role?

As an Account Manager at Hilti, you will be trusted to use your expertise to implement sales strategies, create long term customer relationships, introduce new innovative products and services and explore new markets. If you thrive on supporting existing customers and have the drive to captivate and capture new customer partners, this is the role for you!

Who is Hilti?

At Hilti, we are a passionate global team committed to making construction better. As a trusted partner for productivity, safety, and sustainability, we provide our customers innovative solutions that impact the buildings, roads, and infrastructure people rely on every day.
Hilti is where individuals grow lasting careers by exploring possibilities, maximizing their potential, owning their development, and making a real difference every day.

What does the role involve?

As an Account Manager, no two days are the same, but you’ll spend most of your time with our customers, wherever they’re busy working, to find out how we can partner them and demonstrate the various Hilti solutions.

Far from traditional cold calling, it’s about nurturing and fostering relationships, developing contacts on site with warm customers and helping them find the most innovative and cost-efficient solutions for their needs.

You'll need to be happy to get your hands dirty but also be able to adapt your approach to the customer in front of you – it could be a senior management team one day and a sole trader the next, and you could find yourself on construction sites or in offices and warehouses. This means rolling up your sleeves to demonstrate some of the most innovative products in the industry, along with all the services and after-care support that come with the Hilti name.

This is a permanent role based on a 40-hour work week.

Hilti stands for quality, innovation and direct customer relationships resulting in about 250,000 customer contacts each day.

What do we offer?

You’ll be part of a supportive, field-based regional team. We’ll teach you everything you need to know about our products, the IT systems you’ll use on the job and advanced sales skills – you just need to be motivated to learn. Construction industry experience will be a plus but not essential.

Other key attributes include, but not limited to:

  • Customer-facing sales experience is essential
  • Customer-facing leadership experience preferred
  • A technical background/qualification is highly desirable
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience within the construction or infrastructure sector
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM systems is advantageous
  • Strong value-based and solution selling mindset
  • Proven drive for results and a passion for exceeding targets
  • Demonstrated ability to build lasting relationships across multiple stakeholders
  • A flexible team player with a high level of learning agility
  • Resilient and adaptable to dynamic environments such as construction sites and project offices
  • Full, clean New Zealand driver’s license
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand
