Intern - Battery Technology: Experimental Cells (m/f/x)

What's the role?

Contributing in developing the latest generation of high-power lithium ion battery packs for power tools means understanding chemistry, electrode and cell design of todays and future lithium ion batteries. You will experience working at Hilti as part of our battery research team and supporting actively our research projects.​

Start date is flexible and depends on your availability. Part-time with minimum 8h per week or full-time with minimum of 6 months.

What does the role involve?

You’ll be part of our interdisciplinary battery team, working on the latest lithium-ion battery technology. You’ll work closely with our experts focusing on battery research and development. Your key responsibilities involve different tasks within the following topics: electrodes preparation, experimental cell assembly, cell tear down investigation, electrochemical characterization, data analysis and reporting.

What you need is:

  • Currently enrolled as bachelor or master student in physics, chemistry, materials science or
    engineer discipline.
  • First hands-on experience in lab work, like glove box or electrical characterization of batteries (beneficial)
  • First experience in data analysis and programming MATLAB (beneficial)
  • Fluency in English
  • Enthusiasm of being part of an international team
  • A proactive approach and self-reliant personality
