What's the role?
As a DevOps Engineer at Hilti, you will be part of a team with a mission to automate the construction industry all over the world. Hilti is working on bringing digital solutions that make construction business more efficient, predictable, better.
You will have to use methodologies to balance needs throughout the software development life cycle, processes and tools, from coding to development to maintenance and updates. You will be responsible of finding the balance between innovation, technical feasibility, long-term sustainability, agile delivery and cost-effective end-to-end implementation.

Global IT within Hilti is a truly global team with main hubs in Buchs (Switzerland), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Plano/Tulsa (USA). What does the role involve?
To be successful in this role, you must have a deep understanding of both development and operations processes, as well as a strong technical background. You will need to use clear communication to express your ideas and present your vision, collaborate with diverse teams to ensure smooth integration of software components, document and communicate technical procedures and guidelines effectively.
We are looking for a DevOps engineer who will be responsible to:
- Streamline and automate processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor and enhance system performance, identify potential challenges, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Perform frequent code testing and deployment.
- Continuously improve infrastructure provisioning and management using automation
- Determine root-cause for production level incidents and write corresponding high-quality RCA reports.

What you need is:
For this position, we are seeking a creative, innovative, structured, and open-minded IT DevOps Engineer with demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a global team setting.
What you need is
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years or experience as a DevOps Engineer. or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing solutions.
- Experience supporting microservices.
- Experience working with containerization and orchestration technologies, like Docker, Amazon Elastic Container Service or Kubernetes
- Good understanding of software version control systems, in particular Git.
- Monitoring and observability experience, familiarity with database and networking principles.
