IT Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d) with international development prospects

What's the role?

The IT Infrastructure Engineer provides IT services and is responsible for the IT service management process in 2nd level IT infrastructure and user support ("Onsite IT Support") while complying with global IT system specifications and IT standards.
Coordinating with the global IT engineering teams to ensure the appropriate use of technologies and standards in developing, implementing, and supporting the IT systems and their consistency within the Hilti global IT environment is part of the range of activities.
In all your activities, you will always focus on user satisfaction and the continuous improvement of internal processes.

What does the role involve?

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d), you will be primarily responsible for managing and supporting the IT ticketing process while ensuring that everything runs seamlessly. You will look for potential areas of improvement and provide proactive support in designing and continuously improving our service processes. In addition, you will be responsible for the end-to-end support of the IT service landscape, focusing on the end-user client, digital workplace infrastructure, and various core applications (e.g., Office365) while creating and maintaining technical documentation and training materials. Coordinating external IT service providers is also part of your daily tasks, and you will closely cooperate with different global Hilti IT engineering teams. Furthermore, you will interact with end users and process IT incidents channeling through our Incident Management System. You will also have the opportunity to coordinate and collaborate on various IT projects (esp., rollouts of hardware and software). Thus, English and, ideally, German language skills are required.

In addition to the corporate headquarters in Schaan, Kaufering is the second largest Hilti location worldwide. Kaufering is in the Augsburg - Munich - Allgäu triangle and offers ideal transport links and numerous options for leisure-time activities.

What you need is:

  • Completed technical degree or specialized training (e.g., IT specialist/system integrator) and sound IT experience
  • A broad range of general IT know-how
  • Very good knowledge of Windows 10, Office365, and Workplace environments
  • Experience in the IT service desk as well as knowledge of workflow management or ticket systems
  • Experience with remote support tools
  • Fluent English language skills (written and spoken); German language skills are an additional asset, but not an initial requirement. Interest and readiness to learn German is required.
