What's the role?
We are looking for an experienced and passionate development engineer mechatronics (m/f/d) to join our team. In this position you own the development of mechatronic features for electrical power tools to sharpen the future functionalities of our product portfolio.
Possibility to work less than 40 hrs./wee (min. 30 hrs./week).

What does the role involve?
As a member of our advanced mechatronic team - which is part of the drive development department - you will own the development of differentiating mechatronic features for electrical power tools in an international and interdisciplinary environment.
After an intensive onboarding phase, you will take on responsibility for technology projects and feasibility studies. This includes the specification, concept phase and development of new features and functionalities. As the major development approach, you will apply model-based design and automated code generation. Aside from simulation, you will coordinate the build-up of physical prototypes to validate your development stages. Using our software repositories as in interface to the embedded software teams, you will provide you results according to internal software standards and guidelines. To ensure an efficient development process, you will collaborate with colleagues from other departments, such as drive control or testing, but also with external development partners around the globe.
Using your technical leadership skills, you will participate in cross-functional and cross-departmental teams. This includes organizational responsibilities such as defining project goals, planning and aligning work packages. You will prepare, present and discuss project results in steering meetings, using your strong communication skills. Aside from challenging technical tasks we will support you by coaching and mentoring.
Your tasks will give you the opportunity to show and develop your skills. After a few years, there will be a variety of opportunities for further development.

What you need is:
- In-depth know-how regarding model-based design, algorithms, sensors or digital signal processing
- More than 5 years of experience in industry or academia in the development or integration of mechatronic features
- Strong team orientation with very good communication skills in an interdisciplinary and international environment
- Experience in verifying digital and physical prototypes using simulation tools and test benches
- Fluent in English language - German language skills are an advantage
- Understanding embedded software is beneficial to ensure an efficient development toolchain
- «Global thinker» with strong skills in strategic thinking as well as strong analytic and conceptual skills
- Above-average degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, control engineering or related field
