Senior Project Manager M&A

We are looking for an experienced project manager to join our M&A and Strategic Controlling team. You will work on projects of strategic relevance and gain valuable insights into the global Hilti business through direct exposure to top executives and regional leaders. In addition, the role will drive strategic corporate finance projects to advance our strategy Lead 2030.
The M&A and Strategic Controlling team is recognized as a springboard for future finance leaders, providing opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the organization. This full-time position is available starting Q2 2026.

What You'll do

This role encompasses two main areas of responsibility: activities related to M&A and those focused on strategic controlling.

For M&A responsibilities, you will:

  • Contribute to the strategic assessment and evaluation of potential acquisition targets, working closely with corporate development and business units.
  • Oversee M&A projects throughout all transaction phases (initial contact with target, due diligence, contract negotiation and drafting, signing, PMI preparation, closing, and post-closing management) by coordinating internal teams and external advisors.
  • Facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders at various organizational levels.

For Strategic Controlling, you will:

  • Work in close partnership with global finance and controlling community, corporate development team, and senior stakeholders across business units and markets to identify improvement opportunities and drive overall performance.
  • Lead new, strategically significant controlling projects for Hilti, ensuring strong alignment with the broader finance community, business units, markets, and other key stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

'- Master’s in business or quantitative discipline, and/or an MBA

  • Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in M&A advisory or within a corporate M&A function. Transaction experience in construction or software is a plus
  • Deep understanding of financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and and fundamentals of financial accounting standards
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual abilities, paired with strong business acumen
  • Fluent English with excellent communication skills, and experienced in facilitating discussions with senior management
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment and readiness to progress into a financial leadership role
