Technical Project Manager Timber (m/f/x)

What's the role?

In this role the candidate will create the basis for efficient high-rise mass timber construction. You will deliver innovative structural design and engineering concepts that respect DFMA/D and are enabled by novel structural connections. Development of code landscape and automated optimization of structural design will help to roll out these concepts.

What does the role involve?

The candidate will steer the research and engineering design work in the new technology field structural timber connections. In association with universities and external partners, the candidate will identify key trends and innovations in building design and in structural timber connections, guide idea workshops to generate new concepts, and select the ideas with highest potential to further develop. In product qualification, the candidate will support definition of test setups. Also, they will occasionally promote customer requests for configurations currently not covered by code with expert statements. Working with partners in the business unit will be a key element of the role. To comprehend customer needs, the role also involves direct customer interaction.

What you need is:

  • A Master’s degree in engineering with a focus on timber and structural design, ideally complemented by a Ph.D. Thesis
  • 3-5 years experience in the construction industry, including at least 2 years as a structural design engineer
  • Strong interactive skills to successfully perform in a global matrix environment and demonstrated ability in stakeholder management
  • An innovative mindset and a will to outperform
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and ideally also German
